With 5 weeks to go until GCSE exams, this is the window where smart revision can make a real difference.
As a parent, here’s how you can help your child make the most of the time left:
⏳ 1. Focus on a clear plan
Help them map out subjects and topics across the weeks ahead. A simple, realistic timetable beats last-minute cramming every time.
📚 2. Prioritise high-impact topics
Not all topics are equal. Encourage them to focus on areas that come up often — and the ones they currently find hardest.
✍️ 3. Shift to active revision
Now is the time for past papers, exam questions, flashcards, and blurting — not just reading notes.
🔁 4. Build in regular review
Revisit topics multiple times over the next 5 weeks to strengthen memory and confidence.
⏱️ 5. Practise under timed conditions
This helps with both exam technique and reducing anxiety.
🧠 6. Balance work with wellbeing
Breaks, sleep, and downtime are essential. Burnout now helps no one.
💬 7. Keep check-ins supportive
A quick daily check-in can help them stay on track — without adding pressure.
