Whilst some parents like to start with tutoring in Key Stage 1, which is fine to make a low-key start on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as well as getting the child ahead in English and Maths. I would say the ideal time for you as a parent to start more seriously thinking about the 11+ is in Year 4. Year 1 for 7+ and Year 4 beginning of Year 5 for SATs prep.

It does, though, depend on how your child is doing at school (are they ahead?). The most popular time to start 11+/7+ tutoring at East Dulwich Tutors is the second term of Year 5 or Year 1. Bear in mind. though, that it is a competitive process so you may want to start earlier than Year 5 to get ahead of the competition.
