Not working on the train

On the train to Paris today, I made a conscious decision not to work.
No emails. No lesson planning. No “just quickly checking” anything.
We often treat travel time as an extension of the working day—but constant productivity comes at a cost. Stepping away, even briefly, creates space for clearer thinking, better decisions, and ultimately better outcomes for the students and clients we support.
Sometimes the most effective thing you can do is pause and that is also true for our students especially at this time of year.
