Whilst some parents like to start with tutoring in Key Stage 1, which is fine to make a low-key start on Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning as well as getting the child ahead in English and Maths. I would say the ideal time for you as a parent to start more seriously thinking about the 11+ is in Year 4 . Year 1 for 7+ and Year 4 beginning of Year 5 for SATs prep.
